Island in the Boat Lake

An island in the Boat Lake shows seasonal moods. The lake was created by damming a stream in 1865 and became an instant place of fun for skaters, rowing boaters, bicycling boaters and strollers around the perimeter path. The waters are within the fenced zoo grounds and can be seen from Boat Lake Drive or the Jones Falls Trail.
